I thought that might be the case. I wonder why they made such a distinction, then, in the help files. I'm sure once I add this support in that things will be fine. Thanks for the help!

A CD writer is a CD-ROM with additional functionality, so you are
going to want to add SCSI CD-ROM support to your kernel.
