Well, you won't get anything that tightly integrated on Linux. If that's
the requirement, stick with The Beast.
There are some commercial packages from SuSE and others that come pretty
close in functionality (and may even integrate with special connectors),
but I can't speak from personal experience. You might want to take a look,
but they probably aren't much cheaper.
That said, I'm pretty fond of SquirrelMail for webmail, which also has
some basic calendaring built in now. There's nothing stopping Outlook from
using POP3 or IMAP, so that may be a good compromise choice.
eGroupWare is probably worth a look for group calendaring and such,
although I haven't really played with the integrated email part of it very
much. It seems to lag behind SquirrelMail in that regard, but also seems
more appropriate for group environments, which may be what you need. I
don't know if it emails members or just assigns them to a meeting; the
documentation is pretty sparse at this point.
