The only suggestions I could make would be to try it under VMware with an older distro installed in the virtual machine...assuming that the graphics capability of VMware supports the rendering (it won't support DirectX with Windows as the guest OS). The sad fact is that Linux has moved on, and no one has really stepped forward to fill Loki's shoes in the gaming arena.
