I have a customer who inquired about running his ASP site on a Linux Apache server. I have heard of it being done but I don't know if it is trustworthy. What you your thoughts on the matter?
Googling for ASP Apache yields: http://www.apache-asp.org/ - with lots of opinion to ponder.
You might also consider using Mono, via the mod mono apache plugin or xsp the standalone server. Mono of course supports asp.net which is supposed to be better than ASP (never touched the things myself) as well as backwards compatible.
As an aside, I would highly recommend any developers out there to take a look at Mono. C# is a lovely language to code in and handles cross platform execution wonderfully. But mono is much more than just a ported runtime and compiler - Miguel and his team are really pushing Linux and open source forward in interesting ways.
Cheers, Mike
