Hello there, You probably don't know me, but I was prompted to introduce myself (via David Davis, through a friend of mine, Richard Barnet). David said "the best idea would probably be to get on the mailing list at rlug.org and send a nice email explaining the event details."
So, here I am. ;) My name is Chris Pirillo; I used to host a show on TechTV, and I run Lockergnome.com (which also happens to publish a 'Linux Fanatics' channel and a Linux Fourm). I currently live in LA, but my company is hosting a conference at Harrah's Lake Tahoe from September 30th to October 2nd (2004). I'm doing what I can to get the word out, and hoping to get a fair amount of nearby enthusiasts and businesses in the door. http://www.gnomedex.com/ http://www.lockergnome.com/ The keynote speaker this year, as the subject line suggests, is Steve Wozniak. I'm also bringing folks like Wil Wheaton, too. I've held this event for the past three years in Des Moines, Iowa - and it's always been very intimate. Yes, you can actually meet and interact with the speakers. How's that for nice? :) Our registration form currently has two Types. I'll let RLUG members pre-register as "Past Gnomedexers" if you send me a note about your membership (offlist, referencing this invitation) after signing up. I guess I may have to verify with David as to your status, but... I'm a very trusting guy. Anything anybody can do to help me increase local awareness and attendence would certainly be appreciated. Though I'm working on an extremely limited budget, I'm still keeping the event in a realistic price range for workaday geeks. Yours Digitally, Chris Pirillo _______________________________________________ RLUG mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.rlug.org/mailman/listinfo/rlug
