I went through two weeks of hell trying to get it work :
A. At all!!!!!
B. When it did work - getting the speed above 200KBPS!It finally seems to be working again after about 15 calls (I especially loved the ones
that were routed to some call center in India), a modem replacement and a tech visit but what a pain.
Nothing seemed to happen until I promised to pull the plug and drop SBC.
I use my line for some of the work I do, so this down time was doubly expensive in opportunity costs.
When I open a new office in November I want service I can count on, with more reasonable response time.
The speed BTW is only up to around 630 KBPS on the download whereas it used to be 750-900.
I am told it can't be tweaked much more because of the distance and the "older cabling" in my
area of Sparks. 'Course SBC is still charging me the full price.

I've got 6 mbit down and 600 k up dsl from sbc, and as much as I hate to say it, downtimes have been minimal (so far). And it's only $50.
Anyways - my house is up on University Ridge looking down on downtown - if anyone is up to trying it out I'd be more than willing to share my connection (only nat'd addresses of course ;)

p.s. (and no I'm not on the wireless list - enough stuff already going on in my life ...)
