I only briefly mentioned switching from RH to Debian. > Huh? debian-installer is all curses based, as is the second stage > base-config. Where exactly do you need X to configure the system? Doesn't seem to be the case with sarge. First boot goes directly to X. I assume the init system isn't completely set up either. I tried telling grub to boot to init 3. No go. It seems like the installer script is just starting X itself.
