Okay, here's the setup:
- A Debian box without sound configured, but with esd installed.
- A Fedora Core 1 box, with sound card configured, running esd
as part of the GNOME desktop.
Goal: to get an X client running from the Debian box to play sounds
through esd on the Fedora box. Setting ESPEAKER doesn't seem to be
sufficient, nor does killing esd and running '/usr/bin/esd -terminate
-port 5001 -as 2 -spawnfd 17 -tcp -public &' as a mortal on the Fedora
box; netstat doesn't even show the port as bound this way.
Suggestions?
