Hi Dennis,

I've never tried what you are doing, but printing from vmware to network printers works great. I'd suggest picking up a old, cheap JetDirect 500X off ebay. It lets you plugin 3 parallel port printers and provides a standard 10/100 port.

I'm beginning to think working with Linux requires a bit of a masochistic
streak.

I am running SuSE 9.1 Pro on a Pentium 4 3.2G with 2Gb RAM and yada yada yd=ada.

I installed VMWare Workstation 4.5.X
Than installed Windows 2K

I have managed to tweak everything to work inside the guest os

EXCEPT

Printing!!!!!

The printer is an HP 4050 connected via parallel port.

Everything I have tried does not let Windows print and in several cases
stopped me from printing in Linux. I need to be able to print from both.

I have done google searches, been on the VMWare site and SuSE with only one
possibility I can see.

I need to use Samba to share out the printer via the VMWare pseudo network.
but I know next to nothing about Samba.

Would someone walk me through how to do it?

Thanks

Dennis
