My suggestion on getting into the swing of Samba is to use SWAT to configure things. I don't know if SuSE has SWAT set up out of the box, but if it is you should be able to go to http://localhost:901 if it is. In general, I do the Samba and Printing set up this way: 1) Add your printer to CUPS: http://localhost:631 is where the CUPS web interface usually runs 2) SWAT should show your printer in it's web interface http://localhost:901 . Share it, as well as any other mount points you want to share (/home/dbagley perhaps?) and what names you want them to have in Windows (Dennis's Stuff) 3) Windows should see your printer and shares in VMware under "Network Neighboorhood" or whatever it is called these days Of course, 1,2,3 never seems to work for me the first time, but you are using Suse so YMMV.
