little that can be made in hardware.
With Xandros 3 Deluxe you do have free e-mail support available from Xandros.

Hi,
New to Xandros. Have used other distros but still pretty much don't know anything. <g>
Just got Xandros Desktop 3 Deluxe. It's really cool! Trouble is, I can't seem to find a hardware manager (configuration tool) like all other distros I've seen. But I can't find anything like this in Xandros 3. All I've found so far is KDE's Control Center and the software update tool.
Ideas?
Thanks guys! -Gary

------------------------------------------------------------------------ Tom,
Thanks for the reply.
There is support available. I just registered today. I guess I could try it. You'll have to forgive my reluctance- I, like so many poor shleps, have grown up in the MS world. Support there is almost strictly on a user group and message board level for the non-professional, home user (unless you like to throw money at those [EMAIL PROTECTED]). It has almost never occurred to me to attempt company-based tech support assistance with any Linux distro, least of all with this one. It was so completely automatic in installing that I thought I was on a different planet, or was dead...or dreaming. With one exception, Xandros 3 configured everything I wanted to be automatically configured. The one exception is the choice of sound card (or chip set). I have an ESS Allegro and a SoundBlaster PCI 128. Naturally, it configured the doggone ESS Allegro as the main sound hardware, and left the SB Card disabled. It's configured and identified, but not working. I'm looking for a hardware config tool so I can reverse the choice manually. I've done this with Mandrake, Fedora (Core 1 and Core 2), SuSE 9.1 and RH 8.0. None of them "got it right" either. Of course, "got it right" is my preference. They are probably choosing to make the ESS the primary because it's built on the MB.
Thanks again for the help! -Gary
