Well, I won't be able to make Thursday's RLUG meeting on Nagios (I'll have an announcement for when/where that meeting will be later today), but if anyone wants to learn some more advanced Linux topics I'll be giving a "Linux 201" talk tomorrow. Details below:
The Advanced Computing in Environmental Sciences (ACES) is proud to announce the Advanced Linux Tutorial a.k.a "Linux 201". In this tutorial Mark Ballew will cover more advanced Linux topics, such as how to archive files (tar, gzip, bzip), process automation with cron, portable shell sessions with GNU Screen, Bash shell scripting using grep, sed, awk, and making your first script, and how to customize your Bash shell. The tutorial will be held at 2:00pm on March 9, 2005 in the ACES VisLab at the DRI in Reno. This session will also be available via the Access Grid video conference systems at UNR Computer Science and Engineering (SEM building), UNR Med School, DRI SNSC, and the UNLV Lied Library. -- Mark C.
