Yes with a closed source driver.  It works great that's all we use
where I work and we are developing linux based graphics software.  As
far as I can tell none of the "major" graphics card developers plan to
release their drivers as open source, too much of the functionality is
in the driver and they don't want to give that functionality away.

Of course you can always run the accelerated drivers that come with
your X server, however they will lack many features.
