(C) Which boot loader to use?

Brandon suggested "smart boot manager" because of
my problem with the CD drive that I have fixed.
Ubuntu gave me two other choices: LILO and another.

Advantages/disadvantages to them?

Actualy your choices are limited to either Grub ( the newer and more updated program ) and LILO linux boot LOADERS, I had sugested the SBM program becouse it will alow computers to boot from a cd room ( well actualy the floppy then tricked into booting to a cd rom , or a HDD partition ( or even whole HDD ) but once it gets to that partition or hard drive or cdrom , it still requires a OS loader, all live cd's have thins already installed that why you can boot of the cd ( plus some boot.cat info etc ) and the hard drives that run linux have most of the time grub installed for modern systems that loaded the linux kernel and other needed files ( initrc? ) if you used SBM to boot to your hard drive it would still be looking for an os loader there ( windows installs one by default and so do most linuxes as i said ) so in this case SBM would not be what you are looking for but I think GRUB is.
