Hi,
I saw some are thinking of using thin-clients, I don't
have any experience with that it. But I saw this in
the news from perhaps one of the businesses involved
with thin-clients in schools and thought you may want
to know about it, too. Heaven forbid, but what if
Lake Tahoe split open and flooded us out in the
valleys? Maybe we should think of having some of
these units available in the area, too?
Don't forget to check New-to-You Computers/Disability
Resources in Sparks, too. I volunteered over 140
hours there in the past and now they've expanded their
store. So they have more room for donations and have
some ready at various prices.

Joan,
Because I am disabled, I can't help, but I saw the article and went to
the Website, http://www.publicwebstations.com/, and I think it's a
terrific movement of which to be a part. I have the announcements on my
Website, and it's available for any other public service announcements.
If there's anything about the New-to-You Computers/Disability
Resources I can put there, let me know. I think about two people read my
site, but every two helps. I'll also blog it.
What are the requirements for getting a computer from New-to-You? Folks
like myself, who are fixed (broken) incomes could benefit. My home-built
box is four years old and I don't know when it's going to crash.
Anyhow, congratulations and many thanks for your tremendous volunteer
efforts. Those of use who have had to ask for help understand your
important.
With appreciation,
Bill
