It might be too late, but I believe that was me... I offered to bring a

you... I also offered to bring it to you since quincy was 1/2 way to
Oroville, which I visit a couple times a year. Funny thing is, I just got
home from Oroville today... Just in time to meet you before you head back
home, or is it?
Well my schedule is very limited today (the 22nd), I'm available between
12:30pm and 1:30pm
My cell phone is (775) 233-8515

This is extremely embarrassing, on at least two levels.
Someone offered me the use of a computer, since mine is aging and getting
ready to retire. It was someone on the RLUG, but somehow, I've misplaced
his name.
I have to be in Reno at the VA hospital all night tonight and will be out
tomorrow morning. If that person is still of the same mind, I would be
most appreciative if there would be a way to find him.
I am very sorry to impose on all of you this way. Thank you.
Bill
Hi, Jeff,
Thank you for your e-mail. Actually, it was someone else who had a spare they
could let go. I still don't remember who that person was, because I lost his
e-mail address somehow. He told me to write him and remind him and I can't.
After I got out of the hospital Thursday, my wife drove me over to Disability
Resources and I was able to look around. It's a wonderful project,
self-supporting, and the people are genuinely concerned about people. Most of
the computers they have are in the $100 -$140 range. They give a 30 percent
(very generous) discount to disabled people, but that still didn't bring down
to cost enough for us to be able to afford it yet.
Your offer of bringing one to me is very generous, but if I get a free one
there, I have to put my name in and wait several months, then take what they
have, perhaps because they have a waiting list.
I don't want you to be concerned about it. This will resolve itself somehow.
I have faith.
I'm sorry I missed the opportunity to meet you. You sound like a wonderful
person. I hope you had a good visit with your father. You're very fortunate
to maintain that connection.
For all your concern, I thank you and am extremely grateful.
With appreciation,
Bill

Bill,
You've given me an idea.
I'd like everyone to post the specs for all of the equipment they'd like
to get rid of. With this info we can then design machines for Bill, and
others who may need them. At one of the monthly meetings we can collect
all of the parts, build the machines, and install them. By this method we
can teach people how to build their own computers, and install them with
Linux in a hands-on environment.
