Hi,

It appears some needed to know what SIGs, Special
Interest Groups were. Here are a few LUGs who use
them. Thereby bringing people together from various
interests, and at various times and places, in ways
they've agreed upon.

Los Angeles, CA:

Las Vegas, NV

Perl Mongers help SIG set-up:

Here's some rules to start one:

They had a Hardware SIG, too:

Another hardware group mentioned here:

Do we have a Sponsor's Page like this:
http://www.svlug.org/sponsors.shtml

On a side note, without my working station wagon (have
the parts, by the way), I don't plan to be the person
in charge of a hardware SIG, but I can lug one on the
bus. I just thought it would be a great idea to
rebuild and upgrade our systems, or have old systems
for a good cause. Unless things have changed lately,
TMCC Linux Admin and Web Page Admin was rather
difficult without a server to access in class. Many
students dropped out of these classes for this reason.
I stuck it out, but have lots to still learn.

I look forward to seeing someone run with this ball.
I hope we can meet at that computer store on weekends.
I wonder what computer parts or systems are for sale
at that store, too. I believe user groups should buy
from sponsors whenever possible. Or if that doesn't
work out, I'm sure something else will.

Thanks,
Joan
