Excellent Idea, GAIM has IRC capabilities and it's what I use when I use IRC. I'm not sure if you mean an RLUG IRC or just an IRC channel for Linux in general...
Also, I've been checking out www.myspace.com lately, and they too have a Linux users group where I see people getting helped all the time. Hey, if you create IRC channel, let us know!
