Hi All,

I'm having interoperability issues between Windows and Linux... go figure.
Here's the deal: About two years ago my office was primarily Mac OS 9.
They decided to update their systems to a Windows alternative. A Windows
2000 Active Directory Domain controller was installed along with several
WinXP boxes. At that time there were still several OS 9 boxes on the
network. Whatever native language support OS 9 uses, it didn't transfer
well to the Windows 2000 unicode filesystem. I have about 5000 files with
weird unicode characters scattered throughout the filesystem. I need to
backup all files from this system to my Linux box because the Domain
Controller needs to be reloaded. My problem is this: I can't read the
Windows filesystem as Unicode. I have unicode filesystem support in my
kernel, I changed my locale, and I added a unicode mount flag to
smbmount... but it was a no-go. What I need to do is rename all of these
files. Does anyone have unicode experience in PERL by any chance? Does
anyone have a suggestion for mounting the filesystem as unicode in Linux?

I'd like to provide more info, but I have to go to class.

Thanks,

- Sebastian
