Brandon:
This is a definate... 'maybe'. The applicable module (iirc) is called `usbnet`. You can find compatibility information at the following URL:

http://www.linux-usb.org/usbnet/

Thanks! I'm going to give it a try.

Core:
I'm not sure, for Nick etc, how it's done in Fedora but in
Debian/Ubuntu one can simply apt-get install the following
packages (well actually I installed everything that said haskell
LOL but this is just for the tutorial purposes):

 hugs haskell98-report haskell98-tutorial

I've also installed:

 ghc6 ghc6-doc ghc6-hopengl ghc6-libsrc ghc6-prof haskell-doc
 haskell-hsql-doc haskell-utils
 hmake libghc6-harp-dev libghc6-hsql-dev
 libghc6-hsql-mysql-dev libghc6-src-exts-dev libghc6-wash-dev
 libhugs-missingh missingh-doc

Yeah, I've still got no way to connect to the Internet with my linux laptop. What could have been a good day of work and fixing problems was mostly destroyed by an barrage of unexpected visitors/landlords etc ;)

I should be an hour or so away from getting hugs on my mac. The disc image for DarwinPorts doesn't work on 10.3, and the c compiler that comes with x tools out of the box doesn't unpack ./configure files correctly so I downloaded the DarwinPorts tar file and just started downloading the newest version of dev tools (750 mb) supposedly this will fix it.

After 2 and 1/2 weeks with linux/unix I can safely say the greatest thing I've learned thus far is to cut and paste error messages directly into the google bar.

;)
