again. I just reverted to a snapshot - and I was able to get back in.
However, I would still like to understand the message better and know
another alternative to the "Snapshot" solution, if anyone knows one.
Thanks
Dennis
ORIGINAL MESSAGE
Need some help please.
Managed to lock up my system somehow when I had to change batteries on my wireless mouse. Required a hard boot.
When I attempted to bring up my guest OS in VMWare, I got the following error message.
"Cannot open the disk '/home/dennis/Win2KPro/Win2KPro-000001.vmdk' or one of the snapshot disks it depends on.
Reason: Failed to lock the file."
I have tried deleting the Win2KPro.vmx.WRITELOCK file AND re-running the vmware-config.pl. NO change - same results.
Help!!! - I need to get back into some files.!
Thanks
Dennis
