Just two more questions before I volunteer for anything... why does the TMCC have its own LUG rather than just being a part of ours? And if they are short on presenters it shows that their group is not sustainable, so even if they want to call themselves their own LUG why are they not at least coming to our meetings/presentations to fill the gap?

The first thing that comes to mind is that college and universities can provide things to their on-campus official clubs which they cannot provide to a group like RLUG. Insurance... meeting spaces.. instructors... possibly even equipment. There are also things that staff and students may be able to get credit for that they couldn't do through RLUG. Those are just some of the considerations. Overall, I'd bet it helps everybody... some people will show up at a university/college meeting that wouldn't go to a regular LUG meeting.... possibly profs and so on...

Will these presentations be given to TMCC classes as lectures or just to the TMCC LUG at a meeting?

hey guys - I gave Cathy House an email address for Sebastian, because she approached me and asked if we had some folks ready, able and willing to do presentations at TMCC for her
Linux group on campus.

As of today, she says she hasn't heard anything from any of you - not even a "go to hell."

Come on people - that's not right -

TMCC is part of the community we are supposed to be serving and educating.

Anybody up for giving a presentation to her group?
