Since I've had trouble coming up with topics in the last few months, I've
decided to plan a few months in advance. I thought it would be fun to
host a series of talks on a subject. Since security is always an
"attention getter" I thought it a fitting topic. Here's the layout I've
imagined (please provide suggestions):
Talk 1: The basics
- Basic attack vectors
- Securing your computer
- firewalls
- services
Talk 2: Detecting attacks
- Network analysis
- Threat detection
- Threat response
Talk 3: Intrusion detection
- Detection techniques
- Response plan
- Attack analysis
- Repairing damage
There will be only one talk per meeting. If you're interested in
presenting on one of the above topics please let me know. Also provide me
with feedback on the above topics, we'll tailor the talks to your requests
as best we can.
