Right after where you set nRenderMode to FAST or PRETTY in map.c.
With "Pretty", I only see names, but no roads. Does that mean cairo
isn't working?
Then, if you want to play, uncomment this line in map.c.

And watch everything stay out of the box!
cute, but the box seems to not move relative to the origin when the
window is scaled.
Using current roadster & cairo from cvs.
