It can work if you use no particular lustre 2.5 feature. However, it is strongly advised to use the robinhood for your current lustre major version: 1) To ensure maximum compatibility between robinhood and liblustreapi (there were unfortunate cases where some llapi call prototype changed between lustre releases). 2) To make robinhood aware of new changelog records of Lustre 2.5. 3) To make robinhood support the new features in Lustre 2.5 (e.g Lustre/HSM). You can upgrade your 3.0-rc1 to the final 3.0 at the same time.
