However, the .lustre directory apparently is a 'magical' lustre
directory, see for instance https://jira.hpdd.intel.com/browse/LU-5044.
If that's the case I'd rather not touch it. Should robinhood perhaps
discard this directory?

To be complete, our lustre clients are version 2.9.0, however the
lustre servers (MDS, OSS) are on 2.7.0.
