[snip] I made two changes that really seemed to help. I read a bunch about tuning MariaDB (MySQL) and made a bunch of tweaks that increased the memory, cache, and CPU usage. This helped a bit and was noticeable in how fast it handled the db portions. I realized I made a mistake on my firewall rule for this network-mounted-storage and not all of the ports were open. I figured this out when I disabled the firewall (just trying anything to make it go faster) and speed jumped 3x!! I figured out my mistake with the ports and now it is humming along. Around 18million files bouncing between 1300-1800 entries/sec and it takes about 4 hours. Considerably better than the 8 days and not finishing! :-) Thanks, ~Stack~
