Hi Andrew and Matt, we tried project quota on Lustre 2.11 and hit this:
https://jira.whamcloud.com/browse/LU-11872This behaviour occurs also even if source/destination are on different project quota enabled filesystems. It affects also existing hardlinks/files when setting the quota id and hardlinks are not possible afterwards between different projects with different id's for standard users (Error message: ''Invalid cross-device link''), but could be set as 'root'.
We will not update our current system to a higher Lustre version. New cluster with newer Lustre version will be installed next year.

Admittedly now we are moving to project quotas, the need for this system is going to be lessened as we'll have accurate per-tree space/inode usage stats from the quota finally.I take it you saw https://jira.whamcloud.com/browse/LU-12826 ? Sadly our main filesystem that we'd like to use project quotas on is still 2.10, and I haven't got a 2.12.x upgrade scheduled in yet _______________________________________________ robinhood-support mailing list robinhood-support@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/robinhood-support
