I am afraid XML tags would pollute the diffs similarly as HTML tags. If you
want to
have a format that is easy to diff/merge you should try TSV or
reStructuredText (and
check out issue 375 about new space delimited format). They are both easy
to edit
even with text editors (something that cannot really be said about HTML or
XML) and
TSV format is even supported by RIDE.
It would be possible to add support for XML as test data format but we need
more good
reasons to do that.
