There are internal APIs for this and the current documentation is at:

These APIs aren't as flexible as they could be and they definitely should
be better
documented. Enhancing them our long term goal and in RF 2.2 we'll look at
the parsing
APIs to make them easier to use by RIDE. Unfortunately most changes to
these APIs
also cause backwards incompatibility problems and thus we try to avoid them
between
major releases.
Please submit more concrete enhancement ideas if you found problems when
using the
APIs. This issue is pretty vague and and I'll close it. We don't seem to
have any
suitable status but Invalid is probably the closest.
