We haven't yet done anything related to this but there are some needs for this within NSN so it's likely that we'll look at this sometime during the spring. If you Bryan are interested in creating a generic tool let us know and we can discuss on the ideas
we currently have.

I'm not so sure adding a new listener like API is such a good idea. We have already an idea to make the listener interface two way (issue 177) and I think it should be
enough to implement the needed debugging capabilities. If there's a need to
communicate with an external system, such as RIDE, we can implement a listener that does that. (Similarly we didn't implement new library API to RF when we wanted to support remote libraries, but instead implemented Remote library that provides that API.)
