I fully agree that there are many cool potential use cases for this functionality. None of them seem to be urgent for any NSN teams so this feature doesn't have that high priority for the core development team.
We are planning to refactor/rewrite how tests are run in RF 2.6 and I believe adding this functionality at that time, or afterwards, ought to be relatively simple. I hope we could do RF 2.6 next autumn but it might be that RIDE enhancements have a higher priority.
Implementing this prior to 2.6 is possible too but probably more work. If you Martin are interested, just take a look at the source code and tell where you need help.
