Comment #20 on issue 539 by spielmann.robert: Problems with installation on
Windows 7
http://code.google.com/p/robotframework/issues/detail?id=539
Okay - I've uninstalled RF completely and did the following:
* installed RF using the downloaded 2.5.3 win32 installer - expected: error
on postinstall - actual: error on postinstall
* uninstalled RF 2.5.3 completely, manually checked everything was really
gone
* installed RF using the TRUNK win32 installer - expected: error on
postinstall - actual: all good -> okay, the difference is either the Python
or the distutils version
* uninstalled RF TRUNK completely
* checked out RF 2.5.3 tag, created win32 installer, ran it, expected:
error on postinstall, actual: all good
Thus, because the downloaded 2.5.3 installer fails while my self-made 2.5.3
installer works fine, I come to believe that this is (or was) a bug in
distutils 2.6.5, because my installer (the working one) was created with
distutils 2.7.
I'm open for opinions on this matter. Maybe someone can send me a win32
installer created with distutils 2.6.5 and the current TRUNK version for a
last crosscheck?
