It seems that the Jython API for workaround that worked with 2.5.1 is no  
longer available in 2.5.2 RC2. Thus, I disabled the workaround code if  
executed with 2.5.2 RC 2.

I think we shouldn't spend more effort on this now, and get back to it  
if/when the underlying Jython bug gets fixed in official 2.5.2
