Ok, we need to test the installation with PIP. I'm not too surprised about  
the problems because the installation already has some hacks to support  
setuptools/easy_install.

Could you czhang submit a new issue about the PIP installation problem? I  
close this issue again as your problem is not likely to be related to the  
original problem.
