This sounds really strange. I just tested that I was able to run 36 tests
out of over 2000 in 5 seconds (they all failed immediately due to
environment issues) which is quite a bit better than 5 minutes starting
time with 165 tests you have.
I don't have any ideas what could be going wrong here. One thing you could
try is enabling syslog [1] to see what's happening between the time
execution starts and the first actual test starts.
