We are not aware of any current need for this library. However, that doesn't mean that this kind of library wouldn't be useful to somebody, somewhere.
If you want to take a stab at it, I suggest doing it in Github. If this can be implemented both in Python and Jython without external dependencies, I think this is a fine candidate for inclusion as a standard library.
