I've never understood the opposition to SKIP. It's a fact of life that some tests should be skipped for one reason or another (low on disk space, different architectures, uninstalled features or dependencies, etc), and that reason might not be evident until the test is running. Tests either run or they don't. If they run, they either pass or they don't. Those three states should IMHO all be visible in the log. <shrug>
I do agree, however, that WARN seems a little unusual.
