ASCII escape codes and control characters, like backspace, can cause
problems when searching for a specific output string. For example a color
escape code in middle of the search pattern causes the search to fail.
This can be fixed with a terminal emulation support. In terminal emulation,
the escape codes, and control characters are processed as if a real
terminal was in use.
