Say, Rob, is this anything you'd share with the Perl community? Or even
with just one company founder (me) who's banging away on a prototype that
needs to do some similar things? I'm not dealing with news, but I am using
Perl to grab a bunch of different sorts of data that I want to stick into
mysql. I'm always eager for example code.

My startup became official yesterday, though it's 1.5 months old -- we
signed the papers finally. Still not saying what it's about, though robots
figure significantly in it. A rather different application, however. Some
folks here asked previously if we're hiring. For the most part, no, though
I'd consider someone here in Silicon Valley who has a very strong
background in math, especially statistics, multivariate optimization,
genetic algorithms and that sort of thing.
