All basic camera access can be done with opencv. If you are looking for more advanced cameras you should use cameras supporting GeniCam. Do you have any use case why we should support camera_firewire and camera_unicap? For me it makes no sense to hide unicap behind the camera_interface. Unicap is an uniform interface for video capture devices in its own. The idea is to simplify our code basis and to evaluate which code is really needed for current and future projects (excluding old ones).
