Subject: Re: Gweled graphics being questioned

Ah well, first let me tell you I'm glad they saw you first ;)
All I can say is that I did those graphics with Inkscape from a
screenshot of Bejeweled. I can't see how it would be illegal but IANAL.
(+ mine are better ;)

It's your decision but I would not bother fighting other 7 icons. And
it's easy enough to make them slightly different anyway. You can change
the colors to start with. How about the attached example, still
illegal ?

Hey

I'm one of the guys involved in Rockbox (http://www.rockbox.org/). We have a
little plugin called 'Jewels' that is using graphics that originate from your
Gweled application:

   http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/PluginJewels

We recently received a rather unpleasent mail regarding the Jewels graphics:

   http://www.rockbox.org/mail/archive/rockbox-dev-archive-2006-04/0116.shtml
   (fairly long thread in there)

... which also hit "the news":

This mail is just a heads-up for you, since the graphics these guys question
come from your program.

We have not yet decided on how to act, we're still discussing it back and
forth.

PS, the rockbox-dev mailing list will discard mails from non-subscribers so
I'll volounteer to forward any replies. Should you want to.
