Hello,

I was wondering if anyone can tell if the iAudio X5 has enough
processing power (cpu + specialized audio chips on board) to perform
the following actions in realtime:

1) pitch control (keeping tempo constant)
2) tempo control (keeping pitch constant)

I play both bass and trombone and the reason why I'm interested in
these features is:

1) original songs are sometimes transposed in order for 'our' singers
to 'hit' the correct notes. This way you can practice an original
recording in a different key (without preprocessing the files on a
PC).

2) when practicing difficult phrases of a song, I want to rehearse
(and play along) at a slower tempo. When it is ok, then I slightly
increase the tempo until it's at the normal speed again.

If this can't be done on an iAudio X5, is there a different (rockbox)
device that could do this?

My guess is that it would probably require dedicated DSP functionality
to do this? So it's probably not going to be 'generic' for all
supported rockbox platforms?

Any thoughts on this?

Best regards,

Jeroen Janssen
