I agree, but I think that contact is much better done via a mailing list
or similar, as then the idea can be discussed and bounced around easier.
Incidently, that is also how most open sorce project do these sorts of
things.

I agree that maybe the feature request tracker isn't the best way to handle
feature requests, However I do like it because it is nice just to be able to
go through and read everything that has been requested. If this was switched
to a mailing list, I can see 2 problems. Firstly It wouldn't be as easy to
search or brows as the current feature request tracker, and also I think
that You would probably need to set up a new mailing list for feature
requests, as I'm sure that neither the dev or rb users list would want to be
spammed with them.
As a result, i'm just wondering how many people would join such a request
list? the advantage of being able to submit a feature request as it stands
at the moment is, that people can select to only watch particular requests
they are interested in, and also the fact it is possible to monitor which
requests are open and closed.
