How about the following settings:
Europe: 87.5 - 108.0 MHz, 100 kHz steps, 50 us de-emphasis
US / Canada: 87.9 - 107.9 MHz, 200 kHz steps, 75 us de-emphasis
Japan: 76.0 - 90.0 MHz, 100 kHz steps, 50 us de-emphasis
World: 87.5 - 108.0 MHz, 50 kHz steps, 50 us de-emphasis
How about:
North America: 87.9 - 107.9 MHz, 200 kHz steps, 75 us de-emphasis
Europe: 87.5 - 108.0 MHz, 100 kHz steps, 50 us de-emphasis
Italy: 87.5 - 108.0 MHz, 50 kHz steps, 50 us de-emphasis
Japan: 76.0 - 90.0 MHz, 100 kHz steps, 50 us de-emphasis
Other (.05MHz steps): 87.5 - 108.0 MHz, 50 kHz steps, 50 us de-emphasis
Other (.1MHz steps): 87.5 - 108.0 MHz, 100 kHz steps, 50 us de-emphasis
I admit it will have some redundancy and waste some amount of space, but
it should be more obvious to users what to pick. You could do away with
"Other (.1MHz steps)" if you wanted, of course and just have a single
"Other" with 50kHZ steps.
Ok, I agree this is a possible solution too.
My preference still goes to having just 4 options, because there are
basically just 4 known unique combinations of FM band, channel spacing,
de-emphasis.
The patch for having these 4 regions turns out to be quite simple, I'll
put it up later today on flyspray for further discussion.
Kind regards,
