Its very possible, and something which is generally wanted.. but the
major problem is that each target has a different set of features, and
even different builds have different features. The plan I think is to
have the build script dump apps/settings_list.c to a text file which
is easily parsed and stored in a file like rockbox-info.txt on the
player so a utility to easily see which settings are available and
what their legal values are.

Good point about different menus & options for different players. What about starting with the ability to manipulate/mimic only the settings & options which exist on all players?
