The ipod bootloader just initialises as little of the hardware as is
necessary to boot Rockbox.

boot?
If you switch the ipod on with the remote tuner already plugged in, it
is not recognized and you need to unplug and re-plug in it.
Probably I'm in wrong talking about the boot loader. Maybe the more
correct thing is to recognize it after RB is loaded: in this case all
the interrupt vectors should be available.
