FWIW, I use the simulator dailty as a player. I just use the --root command-line option to set a good starting point (which is a UNC path to remote storage in my case).
IMHO, I think a single root directory (and the entire tree beneath it) would be fine - no need to worry too much about "multiple drives". pondlife
