I use both the quickscreen (to turn shuffle on and off) and the hotkey (to insert into a playlist), so would be loath to lose either unless an alternate could be thought of. I shall have a think. Also, as for the USB menu, I'm not sure. I instinctively feel it'd be slower than now (and I plug/unplug quite a lot), but I don't think I can really say without trying whether it'd be enough slower to annoy. On another note, I wouldn't object to an option for setting the default on USB insert (charge or connect).
