I was busy with coding (and visiting the Berlin beer festival) since the
last mail, and indeed made quite some progress.
I found and fixed some bugs for the two patches mentioned in the last
mail. Additionally, to FS#12186 too, I uploaded my current state of
compaction enablement.
This work is actually quite advanced. From what I can tell with my
limited testing, it works very well. I already tested moving all
allocations and there doesn't seem to be any issue.
As a demo that patch includes enabling lastfm scrobbling dynamically,
i.e. without the need for a reboot.
I want to be finished with the coding work by the soft pencils down date
(August 15), preferably earlier, and do some more testing the time after.
